Art of Transliness

Answer
Hi,

I've been asking my mom to read up as much as possible on trans* stuff. The problem is, everything she seems to be reading is really negative. I don't know how to approach her and guide her in the right direction as far as reference material. Any advice?

Thanks

Zak: The best thing to do is give her specific books or articles to read. As for books, I have a list of my favorite trans* positive books here. A good start for many parents would probably be the Our America Lisa Ling transgender special that was on not too long ago. I don’t know how to find it but it shouldn’t be too difficult.

PFLAG is also pretty much always a good resource for parents.
