Pros and Cons of Strap-On Sex for Transguys

Some transguys won’t have sex without them, and some transguys refuse to have sex WITH them. Many guys find strap-on sex integral to their sex life, say it boosts their confidence, and helps ease bottom dysphoria. If you’re considering adding a strap-on to your sexual routine, here are some pros and cons to help you decide:

PROS:

-Can help ease bottom dysphoria. For many guys who don’t opt for bottom surgery, this gives them a chance to have penetrative sex with their partners-something which they might otherwise have been unable to do.

-Many guys find strap-on sex arousing because it makes them feel more comfortable with their body, or makes them feel more secure that they are pleasing their partner.

-Some guys can orgasm through strap-on sex, especially with a harness that sits low and has a pouch for a vibrator.

-Most (but not all!) transguys have sex with partners who are used to having a penis in the bedroom and enjoy continuing to have penetrative sex.

CONS:

-The tools required for strap-on sex (harnesses, o-rings, and dildos) can often be very expensive. A popular harness for transguys, the spareparts harness, is 99 or so dollars. Popular realistic dildos such as the mustang, the leo, and the maverick are all 50 dollars or more. Of course cheaper alternatives exist, but if you want a truly comfortable harness and a high-quality dildo that is realistic or semi-realistic in terms of look and feel, you’re going to need to be willing to shell out a bit of cash.

-Strap-ons are often uncomfortable to wear under clothes, and so it is often awkward to transition into slipping one on before sex. This can cause dysphoria for  guys who may see it as a painful reminder that they need help in the bedroom.

-Some guys feel that using a strap-on actually increases their bottom dysphoria because they don’t get to use their natural equipment. Also, some guys like to go without in order to help them become more comfortable with their bodies as they naturally are.
