Anonymous asked: I've recently been diagnosed with severe depression and some issues with anxiety. Both me and my therapist are quite certain that this isn't solely due to my GID. That said, she wants me to wait until im more stable before I begin seriously pursuing T. I suspect that even if I saw the endo she referred me to, the endo would agree. How ironic that depression is the only thing stopping me....

Anonymous asked: I have a grad school interview coming up, and I'm still pre-everything/not out to the majority of people/etc. Obviously, walking in with a suit isn't going to work, but I don't want to have to get a bra and wear a women's low-cut shirt either. (I have a hard time finding women's dress shirts that don't show my large chest). I will also be touring potential research...

Anonymous asked: I would like to know if there are other people out there that feel this way... A couple of years ago I was SURE I was trans. I had serious gender dysphoria. Then, after over a year, my dysphoria went away, and I felt right in a female body, and thought that the time in my life when I thought I was trans was a phase. Now, after almost a year of that, I feel gender dysphoria again... I don't...

Anonymous asked: So I was reading the "Basics for Young Males" and at the very end, number 5 on the numbered list says, "Find a good tailor. If price is an issue, immigrant tailors are usually cheaper for close to the same service." I'm curious as to if anyone else has any thoughts on this as it isn't my place (since I was born in the country I currently live in) to say whether or not...

Anonymous asked: I started going to the gym with some friends a couple of months ago hoping to fill out my upper body so that I can start looking more male than I already do, but the thing is that I have seen no increase in strength or muscle tone. I use topical T, Axiron, and my levels have seemed to level out from day to day (I don't know my actual levels though :x) but I was wondering if this is typical? ...

Anonymous asked: Hi, it took me a while to ask this.I feel very rejected by the transman community and have been wondering if I belong to it. I love the community and associate myself with it but every ftm that I have spoken to has been very mean to me or has rejected me and this doesn't help my situation since I am still questioning and am very vulnerable. I also don't feel like I belong because I...

Doubts, Decisions, and Detransition
When deciding transition steps, a lot of trans* guys are worried about doubt, either current doubts or about doubting their decisions in the future. Some guys begin to doubt steps they have already taken instead of steps they have yet to take, and consider taking steps to detransition. Detransition, in this article, means doing anything purposefully to undo steps one has previously taken in their...

Anonymous asked: I've been binding for about a year now and the tissue breakdown issue is starting to scare me. I don't think I can afford a chest surgery anytime soon and might have to bind for another year or so. Any idea how long it takes for the tissue breakdown?
Feb 28th
Anonymous asked: What do you mean you are " have heard that top surgery becomes more complicated and the results not as “good” (whatever that means)." Where have you heard this? My chest has definitely changed shape bc of binding and id be interested in hearing how that was for others in terms of getting top surgery later. thanks!

Anonymous asked: I have a masculine haircut, wear men's clothes, everything I can do to help make myself feel more comfortable with my body. However, I just can never pass. I was just wondering if you had either any advice of passing, if not, something that would help me feel less terrible...

A very interesting read about the very public opinion of transgender children and their bodies. From the article: ”You guys, this is creepy. We are allowed to do this, publicly, without any consequence–as long as those children are transgender. This is more than creepy. It is deeply unsettling....

My dad constantly refers to me as a girl and says I "want to be a boy". They're trying to be as open minded as they can however their language.. How do I confront them without sounding too harsh?
